Our paediatrician can also collaborate with your school counsellor or psychologist to diagnose Specific learning disorders such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia. Reviews for pharmaceutical management for ADHD or mood concerns is also a provision in the paediatric clinic.
General Paediatric Clinic
Our paediatrician provides care for children from birth through to 16 years of age. We see patients with a wide range of common paediatric concerns, including growth, feeding, sleep, asthma, allergies, infections, and other general health issues. Appointments may include a comprehensive assessment and discussion with parents or carers to ensure each child's needs are addressed holistically. We also provide adolescent health reviews, supporting physical, emotional, and social wellbeing during this important stage of development.
The Early Childhood Multidisciplinary Assessment Clinic
This is a highly specialised clinic for children ages 2 to 5 carried by a Developmental Paediatrician and an allied health practitioner. The aim of the clinic is to understand your child's unique developmental profile. We achieve this by one of our allied health team members completing a Griffiths III developmental assessment which evaluates a child's development in a play based manner whilst our paediatrician maps your child's developmental trajectory with an interview with you and information provided by their early educators and therapists.
In this comprehensive process we are able to provide diagnostic clarification regarding Autism, intellectual functioning and developmental delays. We strive to also identify and support any subclinical neurodivergent traits and strengths that may be present in your child. This appointment takes 2 to 3 hours which includes administration of the Griffiths, consultation with the paediatrician and a plan to help support your child's development and behaviour.
Autism Assessment Clinic
This is a specialised multi-disciplinary clinic for children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 years carried by a developmental paediatrician and a psychologist. Our paediatrician completes a comprehensive developmental interview predominantly with the parents or carers but also the child or young person. This is an Autism targeted interview. Our psychologist conducts a MIGDAS assessment with the child or the young person. We use the MIGDAS as it is a sensory based and strengths focussed tool which is aligned with our neuroaffirming approach. The timing of the MIGDAS component of the assessment process is decided on a case by case basis depending on what is felt to be in the best interest of the child or adolescent's individual needs. We also collect information from teachers, therapists and other relevant parties to understand your child holistically in different contexts. The assessment and feedback occurs over at least 3 seperate appointments which may or may not fall on the same day.
